Instructor: Kris Schumacher

Kris Schumacher is an expert in pricing, positioning, and marketing analytics, and has been successfully optimizing profits for companies large and small since 2004. He is currently serving as the Director of Global Pricing at Sulzer Metco, a Swiss engineering conglomerate, he is the co-founder and acting CFO of Nextdoorganics, a fast growing local agriculture start-up in Brooklyn, and he is also a founding partner and strategic advisor for SandCrate.com, a start-up seeking to help artists and entrepreneurs form teams and execute ideas. Prior to joining Sulzer, he was the head of the pricing department for Standard Motor Products, a billion dollar automotive aftermarket products manufacturer located in LIC. During this time he has closed numerous multi-million dollar pricing agreements, and has used pricing strategy to help profitably grow new business lines up to 400% in one year.
Inspired by his childhood growing up on a sustainable tree farm in New England, Kris is an advocate for a holistic view of business which does not distinguish from creative and analytic disciplines. His focus on pricing is driven not just by numbers, but by a subjective understanding of the customer’s motivations and perceptions. In 1998, he received his BFA in media arts from Pratt Institute, and worked in NYC producing motion graphics for a number of well received indie films before getting his MBA from Babson College in 2004.
