D.K. is the managing partner and founder of the Brooklyn Innovation Center, which provides mentoring, startup-focused education, and access to funding to entrepreneurs across the borough. The Brooklyn Innovation Center helps startups connect with the right people, services, and programs through its network of industry leaders, investors, mentors, and advisors.

Prior to entering the Internet industry, D.K. held product management positions with the Gillette Company and Playtex Products. Dissatisfied with life inside big corporations, he started a commercial photography business specializing in the financial services and real estate industries. His clients included State Street Bank and Trust, Fidelity Investments, Bank of Boston, MassHousing, and Tutor Perini. After ten years he sold his photo company and relocated to Atlanta where he cofounded a multimedia firm. Two years later it was bought by a major advertising agency. While in Atlanta he taught the Business and Marketing course in the professional photography program at the Southeastern Center for the Arts. Since 1999 he has worked in e-commerce, digital marketing, and web concept development at Get Customers.com, the SEO and monetization company he founded. He began helping technology startups after several years of providing due diligence and Internet asset analysis to angel investors and venture capital firms. D.K. was formerly the Director of Academic Technology at Brooklyn Friends School. He currently serves on the Superintendent’s Committee for Technology in the school district of New Rochelle, and is a coauthor of the district’s three-year technology plan. He holds a BFA in Photography from Pratt Institute, and a Certificate in Multimedia Technology from NYU.
