The Men’s (capsule) Show is going on in NYC and we did a round up of some of our favorite designers showing.
Capsule Men is happening today featuring the best high-end, progressive brands and independent designers. Presenting a highly-edited assemblage of collections from around the world, Capsule reflects the look of the current consumer and presents a fresh approach to the fashion tradeshow.
For buyers, Capsule is a refreshing mecca of the up and coming and the sustainably designed. We put a list together for you of some of our favorites (including one of our very own Brooklyn Accelerator design team, Alder NY)
Alder New York
BF+DA designer, Alder New York, is known for thoughtful, practical designs that extend from their menswear to their line of all natural apothecary goods. Alder New York believes in functionality of clothing, injected with a sense of wit, and products made locally that are safe, natural, and chemical-free.
In God We Trust
In God We Trust is a multifaceted brand, comprised of both men’s and women’s clothing, jewelry, and accessories inspired by the brain behind the brand, Tabor, traditional New England upbringing, along with her obsession with collections, everything vintage, and her irreverent, often dark-witted, humor.
All design and production of the In God We Trust jewelry collections is done in-house at their Greenpoint studio, and the apparel collections are produced either in the NYC garment district, or in-house in Greenpoint.
Han Kjøbenhavn
Han Kjøbenhavn, conceived on the streets of Copenhagen, refines and reinvents the designs of vintage men’s clothes from the 1950’s. Han’s clothes are made of all the ingredients that form the fundamentals of Danish Design.
Combining clean Danish aesthetic with the rowdy danish worker, Han’s designs consist of fitted garments with rugged tailoring. Products are a mix of classic craftsmanship and innovation. The brand utilizes and sources exclusive fabrics and adheres to rigorous and meticulous hand wash processes.
Penfield
Established in Hudson, Massachusetts in 1975, Penfield is one of the original U.S. outdoor brands. It produces high quality, stylish apparel and accessories for all seasons and has built a global reputation for making the highest quality down-filled jackets, fleece and outerwear.
Surface to Air
Surface to Air is a contemporary fashion brand and creative film studio. Surface To Air clothing includes a women’s collection, a men’s collection, a line of accessories, distributed in the most selective concept-stores and department stores around the world.
Wood Wood
Created by three former students of the Royal Design School of Denmark, Wood Wood started as a limited t-shirt label and a store selling sneakers, skateboards, collector toys and art books in Copenhagen. After the success of their private line and shop, the three Danes expanded and the brand is now one of Berlin’s most beloved street wear stores and synonymous with urban fashion.
