SOLD OUT! Turn Your Clothes Inside Out! Fashion Revolution Day USA Hosted by BF+DA and Zady

Almost every garment we wear has been made by someone somewhere in the world cutting fabric, running a sewing machine or sewing on a button. Rarely do we consider the human hands that have made that clothing for us. As fast fashion ramps up the speed of production, brands are constantly searching for low labor costs. On 24 April 2013, 1133 people were killed and over 2500 were injured when the Rana Plaza factory complex collapsed in Dhaka, Bangladesh. While the world stands by, social and environmental catastrophes in our fashion supply chains continue, Fashion Revolution Day says it’s time to take action and create awareness.

In over 60 countries around the world, tens of thousands of people participated in the first Fashion Revolution Day on April 24, 2014. We invite you to join the Brooklyn Fashion + Design Accelerator and sustainable lifestyle destinations site Zady on April 23, 2015 as we herald in awareness for year two, continuing the tradition of turning our garments inside out and showing off where our clothes were made.

Post-screening of the film Traceable, please join us in a thought provoking human rights conversation about the people who make our clothes with Traceable Director Jennifer Sharpe, sustainable manufacturing expert Sarah Krasley from Autodesk and Natalie Grillion, co-founder of JUST.

We will also include a minute of silence to honor the people who died in the Rana Plaza collapse.
