TEXTILE TUESDAY: Paper No. 9 and Queen of Raw
Tuesday, December 8, 2015 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm| $10
Stephanie developed a proprietary process that transforms recycled paper and other sustainable ingredients into luxury textiles. The process is done without the use of stripping agents, bleach, or wastewater and fabrics are crafted using minimal waste and zero toxins. Textiles are handmade in Brooklyn and can be customized to suit a designer’s needs with different weights and stiffness, finishes and textures, and colors and patterns.
Potential applications include in the fashion, interior design, automotive, and wearable tech/computer/technology industries.
Queen of Raw is her other arm and functions as a digital destination where fashion-forward designers and suppliers can connect.
Queen of Raw’s global suppliers have been selected for their innovative raw materials, values around sustainability, and avant-garde approach to fashion and technology. The company aims to “push the boundaries of traditional materials, opening up unique avenues for design.”
Founded in 2014 in New York City, Queen of Raw features tech tools created to streamline the sourcing process and inspire the independent designer community. Designers can create the mood board for their collection and then quickly and easily purchase these raw materials. When you order through Queen of Raw, your item is delivered directly from the supplier to you.
Paper No. 9 fabrics are sold on QueenOfRaw. Stephanie will address both!
