Textile Tuesday: Lenzing AG
Tuesday, July 7, 2015 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm| $10
Man-made cellulose fibers (MMC) from the renewable raw material of wood comprise the core business of the Lenzing Group. The history of Lenzing AG consists of many innovations milestones. Pioneer achievements, from pulp bleaching and environmentally compatible technologies to the development of the revolutionary lyocell fiber TENCEL®.
The extensive investments made by Lenzing in its production plants and in research and development only make sense when they can be used over decades or even longer. The principles of sustainability are “genetically determined” thanks to our raw material of wood, and are industrially implemented and exploited throughout the Lenzing Group.
In this Textile Tuesday, Ciara Cates, who works at Lenzing Fibers in business development will discuss:
-Role of Lenzing in the supply chain
-Fiber production and features
-how to be smarter with the fabrics you buy
-Why sustainability matters
-How it matters to your consumers
-Sustainability and fibers as they relate to fabric
-Fiber and fabric trends
-Lenzing resources and marketing support
-upcoming events in NYC Textile Week
