New Skins Workshop

Francis Bitonti Studio’s New Skins Workshop Series is a 7-day workshop, led by Francis Bitonti, launched Summer 2013 in Brooklyn, New York. Exploring new computational design methods and techniques, New Skins Workshop continuously focuses on immersing students with the tools and software needed to design and fabricate complex geometry in computational fashion design. With the intent to create new iconic forms and shapes, students work closely with Francis Bitonti Studio throughout the duration of the Workshops in the development and execution of 3D printed research garments.The New Skins Workshop Series has been featured on Core77, Dezeen, Style Caster, and The Wall Street Journal.

Francis Bitonti

Francis Bitonti is an architect/designer and researcher based in New York and holds a Masters of Architecture from Pratt Institute and a BFA from Long Island University in Digital Media. He has worked in a variety of design offices and in disciplines ranging from architecture to industrial design. Currently, he is the founding principal of Francis Bitonti Studio, an interdisciplinary design studio working across scales and disciplines ranging from innovative spaces and objects to wearables and wearable technologies.
