Erin Considine is a natural dyer, jeweler and fiber artist working in Brooklyn, New York. Her namesake accessories line, founded in 2009, is inherently multidisciplinary, bridging the worlds of fiber, natural dye and metalsmithing. Supported by a small team of skilled fiber artists and metalsmiths, our goal is to create clean, traceable, high craft jewelry, anchored in sustainability and simple sculptural forms.
I was born in St. Louis and raised in Maryland, and attended The Evergreen State College in Washington State for undergrad, focusing on small scale sculpture, metalsmithing and fiber art. Afterwhich, I studied jewelry at Penland School of Craft and in Cortona, Italy. I moved to NYC in 2007 and worked in the jewelry industry before launching my line in 2009. I've taught natural dyeing, kumihimo braiding and coiled basketry at Textile Arts Center in Brooklyn, NY, and work on larger scale custom natural dye projects.
