WHOLEGARMENT 3D Knitting Workshop
Wednesday, August 16, 2017 @ 9:30 am - 5:30 pm| Free – $1450
The Brooklyn Fashion + Design Accelerator is offering a WHOLEGARMENT workshop for knitwear designers of all levels. In this intimate one day workshop you will design and produce a knitted WHOLEGARMENT and create a simulation of your sweater design. This workshop will appeal to those actively involved in knitwear design, those who wish to venture into knitwear for the first time, and anyone involved in the design and specification of knitwear ranges.
The BF+DA’s Shima Seiki Knitting Machines with Knitwear Director, Kelly Puertas
The workshop introduces you to Knitpaint and the emergent technology of WHOLEGARMENT Knitwear. Designed garments are produced in one entire piece, three-dimensionally, directly on the knitting machine. These garments do not require expensive, time-consuming and costly post-production labor and there is zero waste. At the end of the workshop, you will leave with a WHOLEGARMENT of your pattern design created in class.
This workshop is in collaboration with Futureworks NYC and will appeal to those actively involved in knitwear design, those who wish to venture into knitwear for the first time, and anyone involved in the design and specification of knitwear ranges.
