Once each month, we invite a sustainable textile vendor to come present their materials and processes. Join us for April’s Textile Tuesday with Xoomba, “a feisty young design company” producing organic fabrics in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Xoomba abides by the highest environmental and ethical standards to create sustainable livelihoods in Sub Saharan Africa. This revolutionary line is delivered with an upbeat sense of style at a moderate price and they consider the high ethical and environmental standards also bear benefits to it’s users.

-the artisanal methods of production make it possible to produce custom fabrics at low minimums
-they are able to keep prices relatively low for hand made, organic fabric by not working through distributors or intermediaries of any kind

Founder, Heather Chaplet will present the fabrics Xoomba has recently produced as well as some earlier designs to give a good idea of what is possible.
