Grammar is a women’s fashion brand on a mission to create unique, minimalist wardrobe staples with an ethical and sustainable foundation. Founded by Althea Simons in 2017, Grammar strives to create the best white shirt you’ll ever own. While adhering to the highest standards of quality, fit, design, and sustainability, our direct-to-consumer model allows luxury clothing to be more attainable.
Growing up in Maine, I was surrounded by design, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and nature. Both of my parents are creative entrepreneurs: my father has his own architecture firm, and my mother founded a natural food store in the early 90’s (before that was a thing). Throughout my life I have been fascinated by human perception, behavior and personal style. I have worked in sales at Issey Miyake USA, design & production at Yeohlee, and brand strategy at CO OP Branding/Havas Design+. I have a BS in Neuroscience from Brown University, an AAS in Fashion from Parsons, and an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from Wharton Business School. I have always wanted to start a sustainable fashion company and have finally realized my dream with Grammar.
