DESCRIPTION:Post-elections\, the world is reeling from the possible repercussions of a president-elect that has voiced major changes in how the US will respond to immigrant populations\, environmental issues and global manufacturing. Also included in all three areas is the impact on women and women's rights moving forward in 2017 and beyond. He was the founding executive director of the New York Industrial Retention Network (NYIRN) in 1997\, where he led efforts to strengthen the city’s manufacturing sector and promote sustainable development. Beforehand Adam served as executive director of the Garment Industry Development Corporation and director of economic development for Borough Presidents David Dinkins and Ruth Messinger. He has also taught urban planning courses at Pratt Institute and Columbia University. He is one of New York City's leading advocates in support of manufacturing and the employment opportunities it brings.\n\n\n\nPanelists:\n\n\n\nKinda Younes is ITAC’s Executive Director\, a consulting organization focused on helping NYC manufacturers grow their top and bottom lines. She brings to the organization twenty years of experience in entrepreneurship\, corporate development and operations management ranging from former Chief Operating Officer of RevolutionWear\, a successful startup combining innovative design with technology and worked as a management consultant at a number of technology and internet startups\, focusing mostly on operations management.\n\n\n\nSandra Seru leads Forum for the Future's US-based team driving transformational collaborations in sectors such as food\, fashion\, retail and consumer products. Sandra’s foray into the world of sustainable development began at non-profit Business for Social Responsibility (BSR)\, where she partnered with mining companies and indigenous communities across North and South America.\nSandra then joined beverage company Diageo’s sustainability team to develop its first global Sustainability & Responsibility strategy\, following time in the company’s finance and corporate strategy team. Most recently\, Sandra ran strategy and operations at The B Team\, helping the organization grow a movement of business leaders who believe in the principles of shared responsibility\, inclusion\, trust and partnership.\n\n\n\nDeirdre Shannon is the FWD.us Deputy National Organizing Director. As Deputy National Organizing Director\, Deirdre manages the day to day operations of FWD.us' ten field teams across the country. She previously launched FWD's Chicago regional office and managed organizers across the Northeast and Midwest. Deirdre's political experience includes issue advocacy and electoral campaigns in Wisconsin\, Illinois\, and New Jersey. She graduated from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and earned a Masters degree at Yale University.\n\nRSVP below.
