TEXTILE TUESDAY: Natural Fiber Welding

Once each month, we invite a sustainable textile vendor to come present their materials and processes. Join us for a late March Textile Tuesday with Natural Fiber Welding.

Plants. Not Plastic.

Many people are acutely aware of the environmental downside of using leather. It is also clear that plastic-based synthetic leathers are also not environmentally friendly alternatives. Natural Fiber Welding, Inc, from Illinois has developed an all natural, biodegradable, truly vegan leather. At the core of this technology is the belief that nature already provides a diverse palette of plant, which each bring unique material properties. Through proprietary closed-loop technologies, NFW is able to combine diverse plant-based ingredients (e.g., hemp, recycled cotton, vegetable matter) together to create amazing new materials that are tunable for a variety of applications.
