Fashion Week Brooklyn: Young Designers Showcase & Tech & Sustainability Panel

Fashion Week Brooklyn is a bi-annual international collection show founded by the 501c3 non-profit BK|Style Foundation (BK|SF). FW|BK has emerged as one of the leading fashion events showcasing the talent of aspiring and established designers from across the globe.

Join the Brooklyn Fashion + Design Accelerator on Tuesday, October 9th, 6-9pm at the BF+DA (invite only) for a Young Designers Showcase and at the Brooklyn Central Library Thursday, October 11th, 9-11am for a Panel Discussion on “Sustainability & Technology in Fashion.”

Some of the most exciting developments in fashion aren’t happening on the runway — they’re happening in the lab! Join us, in partnership with Fashion Week Brooklyn, as BF+DA Executive Director Deb Johnson joins a panel of innovators discussing the exciting future of fashion. The panel will be moderated by Rebeccah Pailes-Friedman, founder of Interwoven Design Group, who combines her expertise in wearable technology and smart textiles with a passion for design.

FW|BK has been named as the number 5 international fashion event in 2016. Attendees include a diverse spectrum of socially conscious, influencers, fashion-forward and creative people nationally and internationally. Each season FW|BK supports charitable organizations including; Denim Day NYC to raise awareness on sexual assault/violence, Art In Motion Show, Beauty for Freedom, Soles4Souls Foundation, MTV Staying Alive Foundation, and Colel Chabad along with several other non-profit organization. BK|SF lends a voice to social issues including human rights, HIV/AIDS awareness, sustainability initiatives, poverty, community development and leadership training.
