We had a blast at the 2017 BF+DA Positive Impact Awards! Did you?
In addition to celebrating the BF+DA’s third birthday, the awards served as a who’s who of ethical fashion honoring pioneers in the fashion industry including Target, Mara Hoffman, Avery Dennison and Save the Garment Center as well as fan favorites, Alabama Chanin, RiverBlue, BF+DA Venture Fellows Kirrin Finch and Pratt Professor of Environmental Justice, Jennifer Telesca.
With around 20 of the BF+DA’s current and alumni Venture Fellows opening their studios to the public for shopping, the BF+DA space turned into a thriving pop-up department store of sorts with some of the most sustainably stylish and traceable goods in the industry.
The most photographed and most congested part of the whole evening? Our newly launched TEK-TILES project in our t.Lab where some of the designers were on hand to discuss the textiles themselves, applications and next steps for the BF+DA with our $500K recently received from the Brooklyn Borough.
Attended by over 700 advocates who share the BF+DA mission to redefine the fashion industry to benefit the environment and society, including NYC fashion elite and emerging designers, the party was one to remember.
Here’s some shots from the party!
