Founded in 2010, LuRu Home brings a contemporary edge to traditional Chinese design. LuRu Home works with several of the remaining families still practicing Nankeen indigo dyeing by hand, aiming to preserve this cherished craft by supporting those who make it. In addition to traditional Nankeen indigo fabrics, LuRu Home offers screen-printed fabric by the yard, as well as an array of vintage Chinese textile pieces to retail customers and to trade. Durability, quality and a playful eye lead to updated historical Chinese motifs for use in homes around the globe.
I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Elon University. Upon graduation, I moved to Shanghai, China. This paved the way for researching traditional textiles and ultimately founding LuRu Home. I now split my time between New York City and Shanghai, where I manage our supply chain and work closely with our artisan partners.
I graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art and History of Art and Architecture. Next, I made way for Asia, settling first in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I relocated to Shanghai at Liza’s invitation in 2010, and we founded LuRu Home shortly thereafter. After three years in Shanghai, I now call New York City home and handle LuRu Home's sales and marketing activities in the states.
