Corvallis Changemakers Conference
Sun, Oct 1 @ 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Join Brooklyn Fashion + Design Accelerator Communications Director Amy DuFault for the Corvallis Changemakers Conference “A Conference for Women & Their Allies,” on October 1st at Oregon State University. Amy will be part of a larger panel focusing on social media and digital mobilization with her talk on “Social Activism and the T-Shirt,” looking at how one wardrobe staple can cross cause lines through social media and networks.
The Corvallis Changemakers are a group of local women who, inspired by the upsurge in activism in our community and our nation, seek fresh voices and ideas to effect change and build a better future for women, their allies, and our communities. “We are multigenerational, identify with different cultural and racial backgrounds and sexual orientations, and bring to the table different experiences of activism and passions about issues. We share the common goal of helping women and their allies, including people from historically marginalized communities (and especially female-identified people who experience compound discrimination based on perceived or personal identity) to create and access resources and tools to gain social, political, and economic power.
