The Brooklyn Fashion + Design Accelerator has just opened a spot in the Production lab (p.Lab) for a knitwear apprentice.
Is this an opportunity for you?!
Apprenticeships give you the chance to work for an employer while gaining valuable workplace skills and experience. This 18-month long training will lead to an industry qualification that is respected by employers around the world. After completion, you will stay employed through the BF+DA or assistance will be available for Jr. Programming job placement.
Some of your duties will be to assist with sampling and small run production from a spool of yarn to final garment. You will also learn linking, steaming, hand finishing, knitting machine operating, quality control, and packing and prepping for customer delivery.
All work will be on our Shima Seiki Apex 3 with areas of focus on knitwear, technical design, fashion design, textile development and/or production.
